Chubby Chandler: Matt Fitz will be Ryder Cup asset

Now Matt can relax, enjoy the run up to Hazeltine and then use his undoubted matchplay skills to Europe's benefit.
What an achievement by Matt Fitzpatrick to earn a Ryder Cup spot in only his second season on Tour.
Two years ago he was watching the biennial match on television without any status in Europe, probably wondering if he'd get the chance to pitch his talent against the Americans.
Now he's there at the first time of asking and I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be a real asset to Captain Darren Clarke's Europe.
It's been something of a strange qualification process for Matt because he set off so strongly last year with a very consistent season and British Masters win while this year has been more up and down with 7th in the Masters, a win in Sweden and fifth last week to seal his place.
But I believe just making the cut at the US PGA was a significant step in the process because it came at a time when trying to make the team looked like it was having an effect on his performances.
Now he can relax, enjoy the run up to Hazeltine and then use his undoubted matchplay skills to Europe's benefit.
Well done Matt and I'm sure it's the first of many appearances.
We'll be well represented in Minnesota because apart from Matt and the captain, we have Masters champion Danny Willett in the team and Lee Westwood a strong candidate to join them.
It's going to be some week... and it's going to be some year for Ryan Fox who looks like he will end the season with his card following a string of very good performances on the Challenge Tour.
Second last week put him second on the money list there and he will concentrate on the Challenge Tour for the rest of the season with a very good chance of winning it outright.
Given his length off the tee, Ryan is going to prove a handful on the main tour and he's definitely one to watch out for.
